This is Shiah Thornton, whom we met at our Niagara Falls Ward. We pick her up each week on the way to Church with several others, and have come to love her dearly. She is in the 9th grade and has great plans for her future. I love the way she can't hold still when we sing the hymns at church. She has great rhythm and it shows when she sings.
Sunday, February 28th, was the perfect day for Shiah Thorton and Geneava Clark to be Baptised and Confirmed members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. They we're pretty excited. Geneava is the mother of a wonderful family, and we hope they will all follow her example soon.
Elder Jordon and Elder Leifson ask, "Are we ready ladies? Let's do it." It was the best day ever, and they could not quit smiling. After they were Baptised and Confirmed we gathered in the multi purpose room with everyone for a light lunch to celebrate this wonderful day. Congratulations ladies.

Today we enjoyed a ride through the country. Here is a few of my favorites. This one was my favorite of the day, a water tower I totally loved and got this shot while traveling along the road. Not too bad a shot while driving in the car.
This one is just down the road from our street of Stafford.
This is the famous Salt truck that salts the roads when a snow storm is on its way. They put down so much salt that it makes the roads white with salt and if you don't wash four car regularly the salt will eat through the wheel wells of the car. There are a lot of cars with rusted off wheel wells. Pretty bad.
this is one of the homes in the area. I love the styles of homes in this area. They remind me of the homes in the south. Thanks for enjoying this ride with us.
A great ride through the town of Macedon.
Love this water tower!
This is the infamous salt trucks that put down so much salt that it eats through the metal on your cars if you don't wash them regularly. We see lots of cars with big holes through the wheel wells.
This is typical home structure here in New York. Most people take very good care of their large yards.
It is a winter wonderland with miles of fields, and large forested hills. This is the Smith farm in Palmyra.

spent the day at the Grandin Press Site
Today we filled in at the sight where the Book of Mormon was printed so the sight Missionaries could attend training. This picture is the room where they set the type for each word printed. One page printed equaled 16 pages in the Book of Mormon. That is a lot of letters to set. It took 4 months to finish the book for print. Amazing.
The lower picture is the binding room where the pages were folded , cut, and set for binding. Joseph Smith wanted the Book of Mormon to equal the same quality as the Bible when finished. Thus another testament of Christ. Pretty amazing place to see. A fun day to spend the day learning more about the coming forth of the Book of Mormon. Love from the Barney,s in Palmyra.

My favorite things in our home is the pictures of our family.
My favorite thing in our home are the pictures of our family. They always bring a smile to my face, and bring back great memories.
Pictures on our dinning room table that show how fast they are growing up. Jessica our oldest grandchild is now 5 feet 6 inches tall, 3 inches taller than me, and she knows that means she gets to take care of me now for the rest of my life. We miss you all so very much, and know you are the best ever. Love, Elder and Sister Barney, Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa Barney
Our latest picture is missing our newest granddaughter, Carrie Ann who came 2 days after we left on our mission. we are looking forward to that first hug when we get home. Love and kisses to all of you.

our Missionaries and Temple Presidency
not too bad for a couple of oldies. We love all of you and want you to know we are having an amazing adventure and highly recommend everyone to prepare for this kind of adventure serving the Lord. It is the best of everything serving in the Temple 5 days a week and serving as Ward support on Sunday's. It doesn't,t get better than that! One of our investigators in the Niagra Ward was baptized this past Sunday. We are so proud of the changes she has made for her and her granddaughters. We love you Tina

One of our favorite times of the day in the Palmyra is around 10 am in the Celestial Room At that time of day the morning the sun shines brilliantly through the stained glass windows in the Celestial Room . It takes your breath away! I member the first time I witnessed this amazing experience when I walked through the door and was taken back by he magnificence of the sight.

A morning at the Niagara Falls
A morning at the Niagara Falls was enjoyed after we dropped our Missionary friend off at the Hospital to spend the day with her husband who is recovering from a stroke a month ago. Brother Hadley is slowly gaining ground, but it has been a slow go for him.
We made a quick stop at the Niagara falls on the way home. The morning was quiet and we enjoyed the privateness of the morning. As we looked down there was a female deer grazing on a small island just under us in the middle of the city of Rochester. Wow! We never thought we would see that. What a unexpected surprise! This is where we saw her just under the bridge.
This is the Upper Niagara Falls. An amazing sight! The sound is magnificent to hear.
This is he lower falls with a beautiful park around it. A wonderful quiet spot to see. We found a small pastry shop near by to enjoy some hot chocolate and pastries. This will be a place we come back to again.
We are enjoying this mild winter here in New York. They all tell us this is not Normal! We are smiling and enjoying every minute!

A small spot of green in the Sacred Grove in Winter. Bloom where you're planted!
The other day walking through the Sacred Grove, I came upon a spot of green amonst the dead leaves everywhere. It reminded me that each day we need to fill our hearts with love for others and let our light shine amid the confusion of the world and share the Gospel with others through our testimonies.
